Job Description

Allied Universal® Janitorial Services, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for staff management, business operations, and customer relations within an assigned geographical area for a leading nationwide provider of Janitorial services in Retail, Facilities, Education, and Commercial Office Buildings.



Team Management

· Recruit for open positions and train all new hires

· Manage site supervisors and employees by providing ongoing guidance, training and feedback

· Proactively identify performance issues and provide immediate feedback

· Control all time-off requests by planning, approving and scheduling yearly vacation needs and monitoring PTO limits

· Maintain safety regulations at all client sites Business Operations

· Lead on-going efforts for process improvement to enhance productivity and increase efficiencies while sustaining high level of quality

· Implement cost reduction, profit enhancing strategies

· Direct and execute new customer/contract start-up operations and implement services in a timely and cost-effective basis

· Financially manage and ensure account profit and productivity goals are met

· Introduce new products and/or services

· Identify ongoing financial and operational efficiencies Administration

· Function as communication coordinator and liaison between customer, corporate and field organizations

· Perform payroll functions by submitting approved work hours

· Facilitate on-boarding for all new hires and forward paperwork to Human Resources Travel

· Valid driver’s license required

· Drive company vehicle an average of 50 miles a day to travel from site to site for daily/weekly/monthly visits to customer/site locations.

· Expected to adhere to the company’s driver policies and procedures.



  • High School diploma equivalent (e.g., GED)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing operations in the services industry, preferably in the cleaning and maintenance business
  • Experience with the development and maintenance of budgets and labor costs and monitoring financial information
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to effectively influence others through positive, proactive communication style
  • Leadership skills with ability to positively impact customer and employee relations
  • Excellent attentive and active listening skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
  • Sound independent judgment and discretionary skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented, balancing a sense of urgency for immediate problems with proactive planning and problem identification


  • College degree in Business Administration/Management
  • Experience working with and negotiating union contracts
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the Spanish language
